What is Disney+ Hotstar?
Disney+ Hotstar is a video streaming and digital entertainment platform owned and operated by Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution. It was originally launched in 2015 by Star India as Hotstar, a streaming service focused on Indian content.
In 2019, Disney took full control of Hotstar after acquiring 21st Century Fox. The service was rebranded as Disney+ Hotstar in 2020 as part of Disney's global streaming strategy. The service has over 50 million subscribers currently.
