Empire Defense is a popular tower defense video game series developed and published by Goodgame Studios. The first game in the series, Empire Defense I, was released in 2007. Since then, Goodgame has released Empire Defense II in 2010 and Empire Defense III in 2020.

In the Empire Defense games, players must build defensive towers along winding paths to prevent waves of enemies from reaching the end point. There are many different types of towers to construct that have unique abilities, like archer towers that shoot arrows at faraway enemies or cannon towers with area damage spells. Players must strategically place towers that complement each other to withstand increasingly difficult enemy waves.

The levels take place on different stylized fantasy landscapes featuring forests, plains, mountains and more.
