What is Get Worm?

Get Worm is a free anti-malware program designed specifically to detect and remove worms, trojans, and other malware from Windows PCs and servers. First released in 2005 by GetWorm.com, Get Worm uses advanced heuristic analysis techniques to identify suspicious files and system behavior indicative of an infection.

When launched, Get Worm will scan all drives, running processes, registry entries, and other parts of the system for signs of malicious threats. Any suspect files or behaviors are flagged and brought to the user's attention inside the easy-to-use Get Worm interface. From there, users can choose to quarantine or delete the potential infection.

Unlike traditional signature-based antivirus software, Get Worm employs heuristic analysis which allows it to identify emerging and polymorphic malware strains based on their attributes and actions rather than a known signature. This makes the program effective against new threats.
