Hitori: Logic Puzzle Game for Mental Clarity

Discover Hitori, a logic puzzle game where strategy meets simplicity. Solve the grid by blacking out duplicate numbers, ensuring each number appears once per row and column.

What is Hitori?

Hitori is a logic-based puzzle game played on a grid of cells where some cells contain numbers. The goal of the game is to black out cells on the grid according to certain rules:

  • Each number can only appear once in each row and column. So if there are two 5s in the same row or column, one of them must be blacked out.
  • The blacked out cells cannot be connected to make a large area that separates the grid. Only individual cells can be blacked out.
  • The remaining unblacked out cells that have numbers must be all connected horizontally and vertically.

The objective is to use logic to determine which cells to black out or leave unblacked out based on these rules. As you solve more puzzles, the grids get larger and more complex requiring advanced strategies.

Hitori has a very simple and clean black-and-white graphical interface with intuitive controls for clicking cells to toggle them between blacked out or visible. This allows the player to focus completely on logical reasoning without unnecessary distractions.

The game can be played online or be downloaded as an app for Android and iOS devices. It offers a large number of pre-made puzzles across a wide variety of difficulty levels. It also generates new puzzles randomly, so there is essentially unlimited content.
