What is Horizon Game Series?

The Horizon Game Series is an open-world action role-playing video game franchise developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic future in which mankind has fallen and Earth is dominated by mechanized creatures of various sizes and shapes collectively named 'machines'.

The first entry in the series, Horizon Zero Dawn, was released in 2017 for the PlayStation 4. It follows Aloy, a young hunter who lives in a world overrun by machines. As she explores the open world, she unearths secrets about her past while attempting to stop a phenomenon causing machines to become more dangerous.

Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn and was released in 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It continues Aloy's story as she travels west to a frontier known as the Forbidden West. There she hopes to find the source of a mysterious plague that afflicts the land and threatens all life.
