The game takes place in the high fantasy world of Amalur, which was previously a stagnant battleground between the immortal Fae and the undead Tuatha. You play as a hero brought back to life by the Well of Souls, which has also granted you freedom from destiny. This allows you to shape your own fate through the choices you make as you explore the world.
