Two Worlds is an open-world fantasy action role-playing game series developed by Reality Pump Studios and published by TopWare Interactive and later by SouthPeak Games. The series is set in a fantasy world and features a nonlinear storyline that allows players to complete quests and explore the world freely.
The first game in the series, Two Worlds, was released in 2007 for Windows, Xbox 360 and Mac. It follows a grand swashbuckling hero in a Medieval-styled land of magic as he joins forces with Orcs and other humans in an attempt to uncover the secrets of an ancient race called the Aziraal. Two Worlds offers players the freedom to upgrade their character how they see fit and emphasizes exploration, allowing the player to travel anywhere on foot or horseback.
Two Worlds II, the sequel, was released in 2011 and expanded the game world further. It features updated graphics and gameplay systems including a revamped crafting system that allows players to break down objects into their base components and construct new gear. Side activities like village building, horse breeding and multiplayer support have also been introduced. Two Worlds II received more positive reviews than the first game for its vast open world and flexibility afforded to the player.
A third game titled Two Worlds III has been announced and is currently in development by Reality Pump Studios. It aims to build on the strengths of the previous Two Worlds games while modernizing aspects like graphics, UI and dialogue systems. More player choice and diversity in quests and character builds is promised to offer players an even greater open world role-playing experience.
