Loadout is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Edge of Reality and originally produced and published under the Atari label for Microsoft Windows in 2014. In 2015, Loadout was acquired by Wargaming and currently being serviced under their Wargaming Seattle studio.
Loadout features cartoon-styled visuals and over-the-top weapon customization that allows players to mix and match various weapon parts such as barrels, scopes, ammo types, stocks, and more to create their own custom weapons. Types of playable characters, customizable costumes, accessories, taunts known as Blappables, and END Game tools known as Exos are also available for players to modify and unlock.
There are seven weapon categories consisting of pulse, rocket, plasma, beam, shotgun, sniper, and machine gun. Each weapon part will fall under one of these categories. Hundreds of thousands of possible weapon combinations can be assembled. Players enter the arena with up to four equipped weapons of their custom creation.
Gamemodes available in Loadout include Blitz, Extraction, Jackhammer and Death Snatch. These game modes support 4v4 to 6v6 battles. Objectives vary per game mode but commonly require teams to capture control points or steal an object and return it safely to base.
