What is MineClone 2?
MineClone 2 is an open-source remake and expansion of the popular sandbox video game Minecraft. Developed by a community of programmers, artists, and gaming enthusiasts, MineClone 2 replicates much of the look, feel, and gameplay of Minecraft while adding many additional features and modifications.
Like Minecraft, MineClone 2 generates a procedurally-generated 3D world made up of blocks that represent materials like dirt, stone, ores, trees, water, and lava. Players can explore this landscape, gather resources, craft tools and structures, build creative works or man-made habitats, raise animals, farm crops, mine deep underground for valuable minerals, fight off blocky monster mobs, even work cooperatively or competitively on projects with other players.
What sets MineClone 2 apart is its active open-source development, support for multiple platforms including mobile devices, and integration of many popular Minecraft mods that expand crafting recipes, new materials, new world types, automation with complex machinery, visual shaders and textures, and roleplaying adventure modes.
