What is Minetest?
Minetest is an open source sandbox video game in which players explore procedurally generated 3D worlds and build things using blocks and items. Similar to Minecraft, Minetest allows players to explore infinite terrain consisting of different environments like forests, deserts, snowy mountains etc.
Minetest is very modular and customizable. There are many user created mods and subgames available which add numerous new gameplay features and mechanics. Players can create anything they want by combining different blocks and items. Complex structures like buildings, villages and even computers can be constructed using Minetest's simple block graphics.
One of the key features of Minetest is its extensibility for developers. The game engine is written in C++ and game logic is scriptable in Lua. This allows developers to easily develop mods and customize almost every aspect of the game. The game engine is very suitable for creating custom games and applications.
