What is Picturelife?
Picturelife was an online photo management and sharing service launched in 2012. It allowed users to upload, store, organize, edit, and share digital photos and videos from computers, mobile devices, and social media sites.
Key features of Picturelife included:
- Unlimited storage for photos and videos
- Photo editing tools to crop, rotate, apply filters, etc.
- Facial recognition to automatically tag people
- Album organization to keep photos tidy
- Share photos via email, link sharing, or embeds
- Available as a website and mobile apps for convenient access
- Backups and syncing from computers and devices
- Integration with Facebook, Instagram, Flickr and others
Picturelife aimed to be a lifetime home for all users' photos. However, in May 2017 the service announced it was shutting down. Users were given time to download their content before Picturelife closed down in July 2017. Reasons cited included growing data storage costs and lagging monetization. Users had to migrate their photos to other services.
Google Photos, Apple Photos, Piwigo, Flickr, iCloud, Mylio, Photobucket, SmugMug, ShoeBox, Zonerama, DragNDropz are some alternatives to Picturelife.
