What is Star Sonata?

Star Sonata is a sci-fi themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published independently. The game features a huge, open-ended universe for players to explore that includes star systems, planets, moons, asteroids, nebulae, and more. Players start out by creating a character and choosing from one of several races and professions.

Gameplay in Star Sonata is very open-ended. There are no set quest lines or levels. Instead, players are free to explore the universe, trade goods between starbases, engage in space combat against pirates and other enemies, mine asteroids to collect rare resources, and more. Players can design and build their own spaceships with components they gather or purchase. They can also form social groups like guilds to take on bigger challenges. As players gain more wealth and experience, they can acquire larger ships and high tech equipment to travel deeper into dangerous parts of space.
