Umami

Umami is an open source web analytics tool focused on simplicity and privacy. It tracks page views and unique visitors and provides dashboards and reports to analyze traffic to your site. It is easy to install and use, with a fast and lightweight design.

What is Umami?

Umami is a free and open source web analytics solution built for privacy-minded website owners. Unlike Google Analytics and similar tools, it does not collect or transmit personal data, but still provides useful analytics on traffic and engagement.

Developed by Mike Cao, Umami aims to be lightweight, transparent, and customizable, putting site owners in full control of their data. It offers basic metrics like pageviews, unique visitors, referrers, and top pages, as well as tools to filter and drill down into those metrics. Charts and dashboards present the data visually to help you gain insights.

As an open source project, Umami is highly extensible. You can add custom events and sources to track additional data beyond the core metrics, building umami into a full-featured analytics tool tailored to your needs. The simplicity of the core product, however, also makes it a great analytics starting point for most small site owners.

Umami is easy to self-host on your own server or site infrastructure. Installation is straightforward and performance overhead is negligible thanks to the focus on speed and efficiency. This transparency about both usage and infrastructure is key to Umami's respect for visitor privacy.
