What is Unleash the Light?

Unleash the Light is a mobile role-playing video game based on the Cartoon Network animated series Steven Universe. Developed by Cartoon Network Games and Rebecca Sugar, the creator of Steven Universe, it was released in 2019 for iOS and Android devices.

In Unleash the Light, players control heroes from the show - Steven, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Connie, Greg, Peridot, and Lapis Lazuli - as they battle against gems that have become corrupted by a Prism weapon. Using turn-based combat mechanics, players use each character's unique abilities and upgradeable attacks to defeat enemies across over 30 stages. Defeating gem monsters earns star points which can be used to further upgrade and unlock new abilities for each character.

A major gameplay mechanic is Fusion, which allows two characters to fuse together to form more powerful fighters like Stevonnie, Opal, and Alexandrite. Managing Fusion provides strategic depth alongside managing star power meters and cooldown timers for powerful moves.
