What is World Around Me?

World Around Me is an innovative augmented reality app that enables users to view layered information about their surroundings right on top of the real-time view from their phone's camera. As you walk around with the app open, it uses GPS to determine your location and then fetches data about points of interest, events, places, and more that are nearby.

Overlaid on top of the camera view, you can see labels, info cards, arrows pointing to things just outside of view, and more. Tap on any of these overlays to bring up detailed information about that location, event, place, etc. The app pulls data from various APIs and services to aggregate information about the world around you.

Some of the things World Around Me can display in augmented reality include nearby restaurants, shops, parks, user reviews, directions and distance estimates, hours of operation, menus and pricing, photos, website links, contact information, and more. It essentially lets you view contextual snippets of information about what's around you in the physical world without needing to manually search.

World Around Me offers an innovative way to explore your surroundings and discover places and events you may not have otherwise known about. Its unique augmented reality interface that ties data to physical locations is both informative and engaging.
