What is XpLite?

xpLite is a lightweight and optimized fork of Windows XP designed to breathe new life into aging hardware. It was created to address the increasing hardware requirements of each new Windows version, which often renders perfectly functional older PCs obsolete.

At its core, xpLite takes Windows XP and strips away unnecessary features, visual effects, and background processes to greatly reduce memory, CPU, and disk usage. This streamlining allows it to run smoothly on computers as old as Pentium IIIs with as little as 128MB of RAM.

Despite the reductions, xpLite retains full compatibility with most XP drivers and applications. It also includes the Firefox web browser, media players, office software, and other utilities for a functional Windows experience.

Users can choose between multiple interface styles, including classic Windows 95/98 and XP Luna. Extensive customization options are also available to control system colors, icons, fonts, sounds, and more.
