What is Zuma (Series)?

Zuma is a popular puzzle video game series developed and published by PopCap Games. The first game in the series was released in 2003. In the Zuma games, players control a stone frog idol that sits in the center of the screen.

The objective is to eliminate balls rolling around a winding path before they reach the frog idol. The balls come in various colors and players must shoot new balls from the frog idol to make matches of 3 or more balls of the same color. When matches are made, the connected balls disappear from the game board.

If balls reach the frog idol, the player loses a life. Levels get progressively more difficult as the paths get longer and the pace of the balls increases. Power-ups and bonuses can be detonated to help clear the board.

The Zuma series has seen several sequels and spinoffs over the years, being ported to platforms like iOS and Android. Key games in the series include Zuma Deluxe, Zuma's Revenge!, and Zuma Blitz. The games have been praised for their simple, relaxed gameplay combined with challenging puzzle elements.
