AutoUnpack is an easy-to-use Windows freeware application that automatically unpacks archives like ZIP, RAR, 7Z, ACE, ARJ etc.
AutoUnpack is a free and open source Windows software that provides an easy and automatic way to extract/unpack compressed archive files like ZIP, RAR, 7Z, ACE, ARJ, BZ2, CAB, GZ, ISO, LZH, TAR, XZ, Z etc. without requiring any other archiving software installed.
It has a simple drag-and-drop user interface. You just need to drag the archive file(s) and drop onto AutoUnpack interface. It will immediately start unpacking them to the specified output folder. It supports batch unpacking of multiple archives at once.
AutoUnpack has integration with Windows Explorer context menu. So you can right click on any archive file, select AutoUnpack from the menu, set output folder in the small pop-up window that appears, and it will unpack it for you there. This saves time compared to manually launching the app and dragging-dropping files into it.
It automatically detects the archive format and chooses the right approach to extract them properly. No need to specify what kind of compression was used. AutoUnpack figures it out on its own.
The lightweight software uses very little system resources. It has no bundled adware or crapware. It's open source freeware from a reputed developer Nir Sofer, well known for making lots of useful tiny tools for Windows.
