What is Catan HD?

Catan HD is the high-definition digital version of the immensely popular board game Settlers of Catan. Developed and published by USM using the Unity engine, Catan HD brings the strategic resource management and trading gameplay of Catan to life with colorful 3D graphics and intuitive controls tailored for both mobile and desktop platforms.

As an adaptation of Catan, the core objective in Catan HD remains the same - be the first player to reach 10 victory points by building settlements, cities, and the longest roads. At the start of each game, players strategically place their first two settlements on intersections of the variable game board made up of hexagonal terrain tiles like forests, pastures, mountains and hills. Each terrain produces a specific resource - lumber, wool, ore, grain or brick. Players accumulate these resources by building adjacent to the terrain, then use the resources to build roads and expand settlements toward key hexes.

A single player mode pits you against AI opponents in a campaign to colonize Catan. Multiplayer offers online play for 3-4 people, including ranked matches and casual games with friends or random opponents. Cross-platform multiplayer allows playing on mobile or PC across various platforms. The easy-to-use interface and tutorials make Catan HD accessible for new players while offering the strategic depth from the original board game that fans have come to love.
