What is Chess Tempo?

Chess Tempo is an interactive online chess training site designed to help players improve at chess. It offers features to practice tactics, study openings and endgames, analyze games, and play against computer engines or other members.

For tactics training, Chess Tempo contains over 100,000 chess puzzles separated by difficulty level and theme to target specific areas for improvement. Users can solve puzzles and get immediate feedback on whether their solution was correct. Statistics are tracked over time to monitor progress.

In the openings section, Chess Tempo has a database of hundreds of thousands of master games searchable by parameters like ECO code, player, tournament, etc. These games can be used to study opening theory or common lines. There is also an openings trainer to practice recognizing openings.

For endgame practice, there are categorized endgame positions to solve as well as endgame quizzes and tournaments. The analysis board allows analyzing games and positions, supporting features like engine analysis, move takebacks, and multiple board editors.

In terms of playing features, Chess Tempo supports casual and rated playing against computer engines or other members. Puzzles and endgames can also be played against the computer. For members, stats are tracked with official ratings and rankings in each category.

Chess Tempo offers both free and Gold membership options. Free members have access to basic tactics, openings and analysis features while Gold members can access additional puzzle sets, playing features, and customization options.
