What is Enigmail?
Enigmail is a security extension for the Thunderbird email client that enables users to send and receive encrypted email messages. It implements the OpenPGP standard and public key infrastructure to provide end-to-end encryption and authentication.
Once installed, Enigmail adds a toolbar to Thunderbird that allows users to easily encrypt, decrypt, digitally sign and verify emails. It generates a keypair for the user to establish their identity on the keyservers. The user can then exchange public keys with recipients to communicate securely.
