What is GMKVExtractGUI?

gMKVExtractGUI is a graphical user interface application that provides an easy way to demux and extract individual video, audio, subtitle, and attachment streams from Matroska (MKV) media containers without re-encoding. It supports all common video codecs like H.264, HEVC, VP8/VP9, AV1 and audio codecs like AAC, MP3, FLAC, AC3, DTS, Opus, Vorbis among others.

As an open source and cross-platform tool, gMKVExtractGUI can run on Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems. It provides an intuitive interface that allows users to simply open an MKV file, select the streams they wish to extract, and click the Extract button to save them into separate files. Advanced options like track renaming and attachments extraction are also available.

Since it does not transcode media and works without quality loss, gMKVExtractGUI is very fast at demuxing MKV containers.
