Heroes of Newerth: Multiplayer MOBA Game

Heroes of Newerth is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed by Frostburn Studios. Players pick from a large roster of heroes with unique abilities and battle it out on a map with the goal of destroying the opposing team's base.

What is Heroes of Newerth?

Heroes of Newerth (HoN) is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game originally developed by S2 Games and now by Frostburn Studios. HoN features a roster of over 100 unique heroes, each with their own abilities and playstyles. Two teams of up to 5 players compete head-to-head with the goal of pushing into the enemy base and destroying their central structure.

Matches begin with a short laning phase where players gain experience and gold by battling computer-controlled creatures. As the match progresses, teams group up for large-scale team fights and attempt to leverage any advantage they can find to assault the enemy base. Proper coordination and knowledge of one's role is key.

HoN originated as a standalone title built on the proprietary K2 Engine. In 2015 it relaunched as a free-to-play game running on Valve's Source engine. HoN once directly competed with League of Legends and Dota 2 in the crowded MOBA genre before shifting focus to serve its loyal cult following.
