What is Oxe FM Synth?

Oxe FM Synth is a free and open-source FM synthesizer plugin for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It can be used as an instrument inside digital audio workstations like Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, and more.

What sets Oxe FM Synth apart from other FM synths is its intuitive graphical interface. Instead of dealing with complex algorithms and math, you can simply draw lines between operators to route modulators to carriers. There are 6 operators each with their own ADSR envelope and built-in effects like distortion, delay, chorus, phaser, and more.

The modulation matrix lets you set up complex modulations between operators. You can modulate operator pitch, volume, and frequency using envelopes, LFOs, or the outputs of other operators. There's also an arpeggiator and step sequencer for rhythmic modulation.

If you're new to FM synthesis, Oxe FM Synth is a great way to learn. The graphical modulation routing demystifies FM programming. And with 150+ presets showcasing classic FM sounds, you can easily program bells, electric pianos, synth brass, basses, leads, pads, and more.
