Explore the solar system from any point of view with 3D simulations of planets, moons, and over 100,000 celestial objects, including orbits, planetary information, landscapes.
Solar System Scope is an interactive 3D simulation of the solar system, planets, dwarf planets, moons, asteroids, comets and spacecraft. It allows users to explore space from any point of view, whether from the surface of planets and moons or out in the depths of space.
The software visualizes planetary orbits and rotations, planetary information like mass and diameter, landscapes with elevation data, and over 100,000 stars, constellations, galaxies, nebulae and other deep sky objects. There is a search tool to easily find celestial objects to view.
Solar System Scope includes all 8 planets, 5 dwarf planets, 176 planetary moons, thousands of asteroids and comets, including famous objects like 67P Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Users can add trajectories of past, present and future spacecraft like Voyager 1, New Horizons, BepiColombo, James Webb Space Telescope.
There are multiple modes like space travel mode to fly or drive around landscapes, a night sky mode to view constellations and celestial objects from any location on Earth, follow mode which can lock and follow planetary orbits. Augmented reality mode uses phone camera to project an interactive 3D solar system into the real world.
Solar System Scope aims to create the most scientifically-accurate and highest resolution visualization of the solar system and night sky currently possible in real-time computer graphics. The software is available as a website and mobile apps for iOS and Android devices.
