What is Brink of Consciousness (Series)?

Brink of Consciousness is a popular series of first-person psychological mystery adventure games developed by Polish studio Awakenings. The games follow the player character as they navigate surreal, dreamlike environments and solve puzzles to uncover the metaphorical meanings behind the symbolism and advance the story.

Core gameplay involves exploring beautifully rendered scenes full of mysteries and strange occurrences, finding and using items, and piecing together the fragmented narrative. The puzzles require paying close attention to subtle details and patterns in order to make logical connections. Solving puzzles provides insight into the character's troubled psyche and slowly reveals the secrets buried deep in their subconscious.

The dreamlike quality of the visuals and open-ended, symbolic nature of the narrative creates an intriguing, high art feeling.
