Kathy Rain is a point-and-click adventure game set in the 1990s. You play as the titular character, a journalism student investigating the mysterious death of her grandfather. The game features an intriguing story and retro pixel graphics.

What is Kathy Rain?

Kathy Rain is a 2D point-and-click adventure game developed and published by Clifftop Games in 2016. The game is set in the year 1995 and follows Kathy Rain, a journalism student returning to her hometown to investigate the mysterious death of her grandfather.

The story begins when Kathy receives a voicemail from her grandfather, urging her to visit him because he has something important he needs to tell her. But when Kathy arrives at her grandfather's house, she finds him dead under strange circumstances. The local police rule it as an accident, but Kathy suspects foul play and decides to launch her own investigation into what really happened.

As players, your role is to explore environments, pick up and use items, talk to characters, and solve puzzles in order to uncover clues and progress Kathy's investigation. The game takes inspiration from classic point-and-click adventures and features challenging logic puzzles as well as more accessible conversational puzzles. It also contains mature themes and some strong language.

The retro pixel art visuals and moody soundtrack complement the dark tone and neo-noir style of the story. Overall, Kathy Rain is a compelling, story-driven adventure game that will appeal to fans of classic point-and-click games who enjoy plot-heavy games with challenging puzzles.
