What is Crysis (Series)?

The Crysis series is a science fiction first-person shooter video game franchise created by German video game developer Crytek. The first game in the series, simply titled Crysis, was released in 2007 for Windows PC.

The original Crysis centers on a squad of soldiers wearing advanced nanosuits that grant them special abilities. The story follows them as they are deployed to a fictional island chain in the South China Sea in 2020 to confront North Korean forces that have invaded and captured the islands. However, they soon discover evidence of a much greater alien threat.

Crysis received universal acclaim for its exceptionally advanced graphics and luscious open world jungle environments. The nanosuit gives players a wide array of offensive and defensive powers to take on human and alien enemies in an open world setting. Two sequels were released, Crysis 2 in 2011 and Crysis 3 in 2013, which brought the series to consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
