What is Elden Ring?

Elden Ring is an open-world action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was released in February 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows.

The game takes place in the fictional world known as the Lands Between, which was once graced by the presence of the Elden Ring and the Erdtree. However, at some point the demigod children of Queen Marika shattered the Elden Ring, sparking a war over its control known as the Shattering. As an exile Tarnished who has lost the Ring's grace, the player must venture across the Lands Between, defeat powerful demigods and mend the shattered Elden Ring to become the Elden Lord.

Elden Ring features expansive open world environments seamlessly connected without load screens along with dungeons. The Tarnished has the ability to battle on land as well as underwater. In addition to customizing weapons and magic, players can also summon spirits to assist them in particularly difficult battles. Notable features include crafting, the ability to customize weapons and magic, as well as summoning spirits to assist in particularly difficult battles.

Upon release, Elden Ring received widespread critical acclaim, with praise directed at its gameplay, open world design, and difficulty. It is widely considered one of the best games of 2022.
