ScreenRecycler is a free, open-source software application for Windows that helps prevent digital eye strain by encouraging users to take regular screen breaks. It works by progressively dimming the brightness of your display over time, providing a visual reminder that it's time to look away from the screen.

As you continue to use your computer without taking a break, ScreenRecycler will gradually reduce the screen brightness in small increments down to as low as 1% brightness. This dimming effect alerts you that you have been staring at the screen for an extended period and encourages you to give your eyes a rest.

Once you take a screen break, ScreenRecycler restores your display back to normal brightness levels. You can customize settings like the dimming interval, the lowest brightness level, and scheduled break reminders based on your usage and preferences.
