What is Zero-K?

Zero-K is an open source real-time strategy game based around combined arms tactical battles between two teams of players. It features a sci-fi aesthetic and a variety of robotic units to construct, including tanks, aircraft, naval ships, amphibious units, and more exotic designs.

multiplayer battles can scale up to 8v8 teams with hundreds of units on large maps that emphasize territory control and economic expansion. There is an active competitive ladder community always looking for new talent. The graphics engine utilizes deferred rendering for enhanced visuals.

Zero-K enjoys an enthusiastic modding community that has produced total conversions like the WW2 themed Metal Factions mod. The built-in map editor allows you to create and share everything from competitive tournament maps to complex scenario missions or tower defense games.

Being open source, Zero-K sees continual improvement by developers around the world. Recent additions include a single player campaign mode, cooperative missions, visual enhancements, and balance changes. It's free to download and play, with optional donations that grant cosmetic bonuses.
