What is Deus Ex (Series)?

The Deus Ex series consists of cyberpunk-themed action role-playing games developed by Ion Storm and Eidos Montréal. The original Deus Ex was released in 2000 for Microsoft Windows. It is set in 2052 in a dystopian future during a time of advanced biotechnology and cybernetic augmentations. Players control JC Denton, an anti-terrorist agent for UNATCO who becomes entangled in a deep conspiracy.

Deus Ex incorporates elements from first-person shooters, stealth games, and role-playing allowing players flexibility in completing objectives. The game received critical acclaim for its level design, story, setting, music, and blend of genres. It is considered one of the greatest video games of all time.

It was followed by Deus Ex: Invisible War in 2003, set 20 years later with technological and social chaos looming.
