Dream Hospital is a complex business simulation and management game where players design, build, and operate their own custom virtual hospital. Gameplay in Dream Hospital revolves around balancing limited time and resources to keep the hospital running smoothly. Players choose where to build dozens of rooms and facilities ranging from GP offices, operating theatres, and psychiatry departments to gift shops, cafes, and research labs. Players also hire staff including surgeons, psychiatrists, assistants, janitors, and more. Each staff member and patient has unique traits that influence their behavior and needs.

A major part of the challenge is the management of healthcare systems, finances, employee salaries and benefits, insurance costs, hospital supplies, patient expenses, emergencies, pandemics, and random events.
