Gwent: Digital Collectible Card Game

Gwent is a digital collectible card game based on The Witcher fantasy universe, where players build decks of cards representing characters and abilities from the series to battle against computer or human opponents.

What is GWENT?

GWENT is a digital collectible card game developed and published by CD Projekt based on the card game from The Witcher fantasy universe. The game takes place in the medieval-fantasy world of The Witcher and revolves around clash of two armies on a battlefield, where players command their forces and try to gain the upper hand over their opponent.

In GWENT, players build decks of at least 25 cards representing characters, creatures, spells, weapons, and abilities from across the Witcher series. Each card has unique abilities and strength values. The objective is to win two out of three rounds by playing cards that have higher strength values than your opponent's cards in that round. Players take turns playing cards onto a game board split into two sides. They utilize various hero cards, special ability cards, and combos to overpower their opponent.

GWENT features several gameplay modes, including multiplayer matchmaking against human opponents, single-player against AI opponents, and an Arena mode where players draft a new deck from random selections. There is also an eSports scene with professional tournaments. The game monetizes through purchasable card packs and cosmetics. It initially launched in open beta in 2017 and was fully released in 2018, available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
