What is KSEG?
KSEG is an open-source software that serves as both a waveform generator and oscilloscope for Linux systems. It provides a user-friendly graphical interface that allows users to easily generate various waveforms including sine, square, triangle, sawtooth, as well as arbitrary/user defined waveforms.
Some key features of KSEG include:
- Generate waveforms with adjustable parameters like amplitude, frequency, offset etc.
- Visualize generated waveforms in real-time oscilloscope style display.
- Measure waveform parameters like frequency, period, peak-peak voltage etc.
- Add noise and distortions to waveforms.
- Control waveform generation/acquisition using external triggers and gates.
- Export captured data to CSV file for further analysis.
- Completely free and open-source released under GNU GPL v3.
Overall, KSEG is a handy tool for educators, students, engineers, hobbyists to have basic waveform generation and analysis capabilities without needing an expensive hardware oscilloscope/function generator. Its open-source nature also means users can customize it to their needs.
