7 Days to Die is an open-world zombie survival video game developed by The Fun Pimps. It takes place in a procedurally generated post-apocalyptic world ravaged by zombies. Players must survive 7 day cycles by scavenging supplies, crafting weapons and tools, building shelters, planting crops, and defending against zombie hordes.
The core gameplay loop involves fortifying shelters during the day, then defending against escalating zombie attacks each 7th night. As days go by, zombies get tougher while hunger, thirst, and sleep deprivation pose additional challenges. Players can scavenge through abandoned cities and rural areas for supplies, or go on quests and raids other locations. The game features RPG-style skill trees and leveling systems across various attributes like crafting, weapon proficiency, and health.
7 Days to Die features both single player and multiplayer with support for cooperative and competitive play. The sandbox style open world includes wilderness, cities, towns, roads, farms and more locations to discover. Environment destruction enables players to break down structures for resources or build custom fortresses. There is also a creative mode with unlimited building resources and no enemies or survival mechanics for players who wish to focus solely on construction.
