Minecraft Earth (Series) is an augmented reality mobile game developed by Mojang Studios and Xbox Game Studios for iOS and Android devices. It brings the popular Minecraft gameplay into the real world using augmented reality technology.
Players can build creations on build plates placed in real-world locations using virtual Minecraft blocks that appear on their mobile device screen. They can take their build plates with them, place them in different locations, and work on them wherever they go. Friends can then view and interact with these creations in augmented reality.
The game also features adventures - small challenges where players must defeat mobs, gather resources or solve puzzles. As players explore the real world, they will come across tappables that unlock resources, mobs and adventures.
Minecraft Earth encourages creativity through building and exploring. The core gameplay loop involves finding a suitable real-world surface or location to build on, gathering resources by interacting with tappables, using those resources to construct unique Minecraft buildings anchored to that location, and then inviting friends to view, explore and enhance those creations up close via cross-platform AR.
