Nightmare Creatures is a survival horror game developed by Kinetic Studios and published by Activision in 1997 for the PlayStation and PC. It is set in 19th century London during a plague, where the player takes control of Ignatius Blackward or Nadia Franc, monster hunters who must explore Gothic environments full of undead creatures, gargoyles, zombies, werewolves, and twisted beasts created by the evil scientist Adam Crowley.
The gameplay involves combat against hordes of monsters using a variety of weapons like swords, axes, crosses, firearms. Health and magic power must be conserved as the player travels between downtown London areas and underground waterways. Puzzles must also be solved to progress.
