In Amnesia, you play as Daniel, a young man who wakes up in 19th century Prussia with little memory of his past. You find yourself trapped inside Brennenburg Castle, a Gothic fortress, trying to piece together Daniel's backstory while also confronting the sinister forces that inhabit the castle.
A central mechanic of Amnesia is Daniel's sanity level. As you witness disturbing events, encounter monsters, or stay in the dark too long, Daniel's sanity decreases.
