Quoll Writer is a free, open-source word processor and writing app designed specifically for fiction writers. It includes a number of tools to assist with planning, organizing and developing stories:
- Chapters and scenes - Outline stories by dividing them into chapters and scenes.
- Character management - Create character profiles with notes and keep track of all characters in the story.
- Writing goals and statistics - Set daily/weekly word count goals and track progress.
- Names database - Generate names for characters, places etc using an inbuilt database.
- Full screen writing mode - Hide all panels and focus just on the text.
- Auto-save and backup - Writing is automatically saved locally and can also be backed up online.
- Exporting - Finished stories can be exported to common formats like .doc, .pdf, .html and more.
