What is Fitocracy?
Fitocracy is a web and mobile fitness tracking and social networking platform launched in 2010. It allows users to log various fitness activities like weight lifting, cardio, sports, yoga, hiking, etc. and earn points for those activities similar to a roleplaying game.
Users earn badges, quests, and level up as they log more workouts and gain lifetime achievement points. Fitocracy uses game mechanics to motivate users to continue being physically active. The platform provides tools for users to track progress on both overall fitness journey as well as specifics goals they set related to strength, weight loss, endurance, etc.
In addition to workout logging and goal tracking, Fitocracy fosters an online community allowing members to give each other props and encouragement, ask questions to fitness experts, participate in challenges, and share their fitness experiences through photos, blogs, and forums. It aims to leverage gamification and social connection to help users make fitness a lifestyle.
Fitocracy is free to use but offers some additional premium features for a monthly or yearly subscription fee. It is available as a website and also as mobile apps for iOS and Android devices, allowing users to log workouts and access their fitness data on the go.
