What is Silkroad Online?
Silkroad Online is a free-to-play 3D medieval fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) originally developed and published in South Korea by Joymax. The game takes place along the historic Silk Road trade routes and allows players to choose from three main character classes: Trader, Hunter, and Thief.
Players complete quests, battle monsters and other players, trade items through a unique trading system, and join player guilds and teams. A major feature of Silkroad Online is its variety of unique mounts that provide bonuses, with the ability to attack while riding after achieving a certain level.
There are multiple PvP zones and modes such as guild wars and battleground competitions like Castle Siege. The game has a skill mastery and combo system and various character stats that can be customized as you level up.
Silkroad Online first launched in South Korea in May 2005 and eventually released globally, with servers in Asia, Europe, and North America. The North American server and English client is currently being maintained and hosted by Gameforge after taking over from Joymax in 2011.
