What is Titan Quest?
Titan Quest is an action role-playing hack and slash video game developed by Iron Lore Entertainment. It was originally released in 2006 for Windows PC.
The game is set in ancient world locations such as Greece, Egypt and Asia. It features quests and enemies based on various mythologies from those regions and time periods, including Greek, Egyptian and Chinese legends. Players battle mythical beasts like Cyclopes, Medusas, Cerberuses, Sphinxes and Terracotta Warriors.
Gameplay consists of completing quests and defeating enemies in order to gain experience points and loot. There is a heavy focus on hack and slash combat where the player characters utilize weapons, armor and magical spells. Players develop their preferred playstyle by investing points into mastery of various skills and specializations.
After its initial success and cult following on PC, Titan Quest received an Anniversary Edition re-release in 2016 with updated graphics, bug fixes and quality of life changes. It was also ported to modern platforms like PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Two expansion packs were released for the game, titled Immortal Throne and Ragnarök. An official sequel, Titan Quest: Atlantis, came out in 2022.
