Dungeon Siege 2 is an action role-playing game developed by Gas Powered Games and published by Square Enix in 2005. It is the sequel to the 2002 game Dungeon Siege.
The player takes control of one of six characters who battle enemies through various environments like forests, deserts, and temples. Combat involves using melee and ranged weapons along with magic and special abilities. The player gains experience points to level up the character, unlocking new skills and attributes.
The game features a single player campaign with optional co-op multiplayer for up to 8 players. The plot continues the story from the first game with players trying to rebuild the Kingdom of Ehb after it was ravaged by the powerful wizard Valdis. New features include an reputation system and unlockable torso armor pieces for characters.
Upon release, Dungeon Siege 2 received generally positive reviews praising the co-op gameplay, graphics, simple RPG systems, and dungeon designs. Criticisms included a weak story, simplistic combat, and issues with the game camera and pathfinding AI. It sold over one million copies worldwide.
