AppDynamics is an application performance monitoring (APM) and observability platform owned by Cisco. It provides real-time visibility into application performance, user experience, and business impact across complex distributed systems.
Key Features
AppDynamics automatically discovers and maps application topology — every service, database, API call, and third-party dependency. It traces individual transactions across distributed systems, identifying exactly where slowdowns and errors occur.
The platform monitors application code performance (response times, error rates, throughput), infrastructure metrics (CPU, memory, disk, network), end-user experience (page load times, JavaScript errors), and business KPIs. Machine learning baselines normal behavior and alerts on anomalies.
Pricing
AppDynamics pricing is based on the number of CPU cores monitored. Infrastructure Monitoring starts at approximately 6 dollars per CPU core per month. APM pricing is higher and varies by edition. A free trial is available.
